About Me

Fundamentally, coaching is about you …

… but perhaps you’d like to know a little more about me before trusting me with your concerns.

I was born in the UK in 1960 and identify as a white cisgender man. I recognise, yet will likely never fully appreciate, the privileges bestowed upon me simply by chance of birth.

I have been blessed with the gift of Dyslexia, undiagnosed for almost 60 years. I bought into the belief that I was unworthy and burdened myself with perfectionism, over achievement and people-pleasing, simply to feel accepted. Deep feelings of shame led to low self-esteem which eventually led to poor personal anger management.

Through the exceptional love, care and good fortune I received from others, I happened upon The British Association of Anger Management (BAAM). Their programme sparked a fundamental change in my life.

Through my studies and continual self-development, I finally became the person I’d been searching for.

I discovered the ability to choose happiness over sadness, courage over fear, and self-compassion over shame.  The spark became a fire when I became aware that I had skills to help others and, from there, I began my journey towards helping you. It is now my privilege to be a qualified Consultant in Anger and Stress Management (BAAM), a Certified Professional Solution-focused Coach (ICF) and a trainee counsellor and psychotherapist (BACP).

I abide by the code of ethics of all three associations and prioritise continuous professional development. My wish is that you experience the safety that comes with me being who I am, allowing you to be who you truly are.
